About Scott

1654241_10152055711917701_1425277323_nI was born in Baltimore, I’ve lived in Philadelphia, Topeka, and now call a small town named Hudson home.  It is not where I dreamed I would be but it is exactly where God has put me. In a way I’ve emulated a man very important to my life and that is my step-father. I call him Dad, he is everything a dad should be when he did not have to love my mother and her two children. Like him, I love a woman and she has two children from a previous marriage. I didn’t intend to marry in to a family, I always thought I would get to create my own. It’s foolish in a way because God had already created the family for me. I just needed to make a journey to them that would allow me to understand that what I have been given is a precious gift. What better gift is there than the realization that you are blessed beyond comprehension?

I grew up in a home that was Baptist and I was lucky enough to be part of a church that had an inner-city bus ministry that would come and pick me up at my door then bring me home. My faith began at Grace Bible Baptist and there I came to know the Lord and love Him. Until I became a teenager who found out how useful money was because it could get me the things I liked. I stopped going to church and started working. I’ve worked since I was 15 and I’ve ran from God doing things I probably should not have. I don’t regret what I’ve done because it has helped make me who I am, it is my journey and I don’t believe we should hide ourselves from the things we have done but to embrace them and grow beyond them.

Family is vital to me and seeing men allow their families to crumble or running from them is unacceptable to me. God charged us with leading our families on a path that is righteous and we often fail. It does not mean we should give up.

Isn’t all that worth it? I think so. When things get tough Just Hold Fast! God is there always.
